Watec was founded in 1987 by a group of engineers as a product development company, at a time when most cameras were costly and bulky, relying on image pick-up tube systems. While CCD cameras are now widely used globally, it's lesser-known that Watec was the first company to successfully develop, mass-produce, and commercialize miniature CCD cameras by integrating CCD sensors with our innovative circuit. Today, Watec designs, manufactures, and sells CCD cameras and related devices to customers around the world.
